日產(chǎn)在英國(guó)桑德蘭的工廠是英國(guó)最大的汽車制造工廠，每年生產(chǎn)超過(guò)50萬(wàn)輛汽車，員工人數(shù)超過(guò)6500人。

日產(chǎn)一直在大力投資以支持?jǐn)U建工廠、設(shè)計(jì)新車型和創(chuàng)造就業(yè)機(jī)會(huì)。尼桑英國(guó)工廠（ NMUK）主要生產(chǎn)的汽車型號(hào)包括：Qashqai、Note、Juke以及純電動(dòng)的Nissan LEAF，其電池廠還生產(chǎn)鋰電池。Nissan LEAF是全球*款大眾經(jīng)濟(jì)型純電動(dòng)車。通過(guò)使用鋰電池技術(shù)，這款新車行駛時(shí)不會(huì)產(chǎn)生噪音和排放。為了生產(chǎn)這些電動(dòng)汽車所需的電池，日產(chǎn)尼桑在桑德蘭的工廠建造了一個(gè)占地25000平方米的潔凈/干燥車間，需要精確穩(wěn)定的環(huán)境。

聚焦節(jié)能

為了確保汽車廠高效生產(chǎn)，日產(chǎn)尼桑的設(shè)施團(tuán)隊(duì)一直在尋找能夠節(jié)能、減少二氧化碳排放并降低成本的項(xiàng)目，并提出投資回報(bào)周期在兩年內(nèi)的要求。

升級(jí)風(fēng)機(jī)/電機(jī)

隨著風(fēng)扇和電機(jī)技術(shù)的進(jìn)步，采用配備IE3 / EC電機(jī)的新型直連插入式風(fēng)機(jī)來(lái)替換除濕機(jī)原裝皮帶驅(qū)動(dòng)的處理風(fēng)機(jī)和電機(jī)，可以更加高效節(jié)能。

在安裝和調(diào)查了數(shù)據(jù)記錄器之后，蒙特提供的節(jié)能方案，預(yù)計(jì)整個(gè)項(xiàng)目的平均投資回報(bào)周期為21個(gè)月——這完全符合客戶要求的兩年投資回報(bào)周期。

When moist air contacts a cold surface, the evaporated water in the air turns into liquid water when it condenses. By lowering the relative humidity to a level with a lower dew point, the condensation stops. This is what Munters did for Diser?d Pumping Station in Sweden.

Dehumidification of treatment plants and pumping stations is used to create a humidity-controlled climate which prevents condensation and rust.

The traditional manner of creating a better work environment is through powerful ventilation. However, there are disadvantages to this solution:
- Many of the unwanted constituents in the water are released into the air when a strong air stream is generated in the building.
- Powerful ventilation also means that the consumption of energy is dramatically increased.

It is natural for humidity to occur in a treatment plant. The humidity is largely invisible but makes its presence known when it condenses into water on walls, pipes and on other surfaces.

Since the end of the 80’s, desiccant dehumidification has been used in sewage and water treatment plants to prevent condensation. Munters’ desiccant dehumidifiers quickly generate a condensation-free climate and work effectively at any temperature, meaning the overall ventilation can be reduced dramatically and at the same time create a more comfortable and humidity-protected environment. Moreover, the consumption of energy is normally reduced by 10-20%.

With a Munter’s dehumidifier in a treatment plant or pumping station you gain:

Lossen the reservoir with 500 million m3 of water has an extensive drainage system downstream of the dam. In a series m?tbrunnar, 17 st, there are facilities for computer-leakage measurement. A humid climate in m?tbrunnarna has caused to the equipment not reliable, causing problems for supervisory staff.

A Munters ML690 with thyristor control of heating and humidity sensor (placed in dry air channel) installed. The dehumidifier is arranged in a housing in the center of the drainage system. A conduit with a total length of approximately 600 m into the ground nedlades to distribute dry air from the dehumidifier 17 to the m?tbrunnarna. In this way, they have now lost their past problems and got a reliable measurement technique with reduced maintenance.

Dehumidification in pumping stations and water management is very important to control environmental conditions and prevent problems with condensation and oxidation.

Moisture problems

Moisture is invisible but manifests when it condenses on the walls, pipes and other surfaces.

When moist air comes in contact with a cold surface, the water evaporated in the air becomes liquid. To avoid condensation, we reduce the relative humidity level with low dewpoint.

In the water treatment plants, it is very common that cold surfaces present condensation problems.

Munters desiccant dehumidifiers help create an environment free of condensation and work effectively at any temperature. If there is condensation on metal surfaces, problems will arise from oxidation and corrosion. If the relative humidity is above 60%, ??oxidation problems increase rapidly.

The growth of bacteria is another problem that can arise when the RH is above 70%.

High humidity can also cause problems in electronic equipment, for example in the control and monitoring devices.

Dehumidification in cold areas

The traditional way of removing moisture is using a simple cooling system. However, a cooling unit does not work in cold areas. The capacity of the dehumidifier is decreased at low temperature. Below 15°C, a dehumidifier for cooling is ineffective. The technique used by the desiccant rotor is the reason why Munters does not have this limitation and, therefore, is the best alternative for the treatment plant and pumping stations.

Condensation free environment with Munters

The water treatment facility in Glandorf by Osnabruck in Germany supplies drinking water to 120,000 users. Every year consumer households, local industries and farms consume up to 4 million cubic meters of potable water distributed from 19 wells via 19 pumping stations to four smaller waterworks. In Glandorf water passes through an oxidizer and 4 filters and daily checks are carried out to verify the high water quality.

Classic waterworks problems

Condensation on cold surfaces causes corrosion and is a general issue on water works. The condensation occurs on all cold surfaces such as pipes and filters since the air around the cold surfaces cannot contain as much water as the warmer ambient air.

If the formation of condensation is not stopped corrosions will arise immediately. At a relative humidity below 50% RH the corrosion process stops, whereas the corrosion rate is growing vigorously at humidities above 60% RH. The condensation formation on cold pipes and cold surfaces in general, increases the requirement for regular maintenance such as painting and cleaning, and makes it difficult to comply with the required hygiene standards on water works. Humidity levels beyond 70% RH also allows for mildew, mold and fungal and bacterial growth.

Waterworks should be kept free of microbial growth, as the facilities are considered as food supplying companies, and thus controlled by the Food Safety Authorities.

Also the electronic equipment used for control and monitoring of waterworks is sensitive to high humidity, and the high humidity can cause damage to the building structures themselves.

Dehumidification is the solution

The water temperature at the Glandorf facility is about 8°C as it enters the pipes and as the indoor temperature is always higher (min. 13°C), the moisture in the air precipitates as condensation on the cold pipes and filters.

The classical problems that arise in waterworks, was also known in the Glandorf facility, namely algae growth on steel surfaces, mold on building structures and wet pipes with corrosion where the paint peels off.

Facility Manager Frank Kurowski has already for many years prevented these problems by using dehumidifiers from Munters.

Munters dehumidifiers type MK are mobile refrigerant units and a number of dehumidifiers are permanently in use in the halls with oxidizer and filters. In addition, a few extra dehumidifiers are at hand for use during peak periods (e.g. on some summer days when the water content in the air is extraordinary high), and for quick drying after cleaning.

Energy saving controls
The dehumidifiers are controlled via a Microstate humidistat, a humidity sensor located directly on the surface of the cold pipe. By measuring the dewpoint directly on the pipes the dehumidifiers are able to keep the humidity in the water treatment facility below this dewpoint, whereby condensation is completely prevented. At the same time this type of controlling by means of a
"floating dew point" secures that the dehumidifiers are operating less hours compared to the more traditional control by the air's relative humidity. This saves expensive energy.
Mr. Kurowski appreciates with great satisfaction the condensation-free environment, low cost of maintenance of buildings and pipes and not at least the mold and corrosion free conditions. An absolute necessity at a waterworks all subject to strict regulations of the Food Authorities.
